The restaurant will feature a “global-classics" menu with several small plates to encourage sharing, a lively bar, sidewalk dining, an opening façade and ample free parking.not to mention one of Connecticut’s most talented chefs. The new venue will reside in the heart of Fairfield in the former location of Greenhouse Grill on Unquowa Place.
The original trio behind Match in SoNo, Scott Beck, Matt Storch and Kevin McHugh, are the brains, culinary brawn and co-owners who just inked a deal to build-out and run a soon-to-be-named restaurant slated to open early summer 2012. Yes, we are aware this is a bar however, as first-time patrons, we would like to revisit in the future, hoping that the food is up-to-par with the Gray Goose's overall experience.Fairfield will be the destination for one of the liveliest new restaurants to open in Fairfield County this year. While the atmosphere is definitely welcoming, lively, cozy, and quintessential New England, and the staff quite accommodating, the food quality could benefit from some improvement. For $18, one would certainly hope that they'd receive a good value for their money (even in Southport). However, much to our surprise, while the burger's menu description seemed appealing, the same cannot be said about its taste and accompanying sides.
We were enthused to finally order a popular menu item (a burger) one that had been recommended to us on multiple occasions. Firstly, kudos to the Gray Goose team for operating their kitchen on a stormy, snowy Saturday night.
